Chris Starkenburg joined the Boyden fire department when is was finally eligible at the age of 18. During his senior year he was putting his life on the line for his community. As a boy, he watched his dad sacrifice his time and life as he was the fire chief. Now at age 32, Chris is the fire chief for Boyden and his wife Holly is also on the First Responder team making it a family tradition.
