SCHEELS HOMETOWN HEROES + BRUCE & KEITH CORMICAN

 In Hometown Heroes

Please join us in celebrating and honoring the Eau Claire ‪@scheels‬ Hometown heroes, Keith and Bruce Cormican!

Keith and Bruce are brothers who in the early 90’s decided that their county was in need of a search and recovery dive team. They took it upon themselves to get certified, acquire their own equipment and started helping out fire departments and families with recovering drowning victims.

Sadly, in 1995, Bruce Cormican who was a fire fighter at the time was searching for a drowning victim and he was pulled into a whirlpool/hydraulic current and lost his life. Since then, his brother Keith made it a mission to carry on his brothers legacy and has continued his passion to help families find their loved ones. Keith created “Bruce’s Legacy” which is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) volunteer organization providing search and recovery operations for drowned victims. He also travels the country training fire departments and search/recovery operations on safe and effective practices searching for drowning victims. He works closely with grieving families trying to help bring closure to them in hopes of finding their loved ones to be put to rest.

A tough occupation to endure, but as Keith states…”Someone has to do it”

Let’s honor and celebrate Keith and his brother Bruce as the next Scheels Hometown heroes!
