SCHEELS HOMETOWN HERO – CAPTAIN PAUL WECKMAN

Captain (Retired) Paul Weckman is a native of Mankato, Minnesota. In March of 1986, Captain Weckman received his commission as an Ensign in the United States Navy. In July of 1986 he graduated from Surface Warfare Officer School in Coronado, California. Over his 26 years of active duty service he made multiple overseas deployments, served tours in recruiting, manpower, training, assumed command on two occasions and served at the Pentagon.

Paul is a member of the Knights of Columbus, Military Officers Association of America, American Legion, DAV and VFW. Paul is actively engaged with his church where he and his wife are marriage preparation advisors. Recently he has served on the Board of Directors for Warriors Never Give Up which provides combat and service connected disabled Veterans a healing experience through outdoor adventures and is currently serving as a Board Director for the South Dakota Military Heritage Alliance. In an advisory role, he also provides support to the South Dakota chapter of Folds of Honor, PolicyVets.Org and with the Wings of Valor Lodge. He is currently employed with Sanford Health as Head of Military and Veteran Affairs. Please join us in Celebrating and Honoring Paul!
