SCHEELS HOMETOWN HERO – DAKOTA BREKHUS

In 2011, Dakota was living in Minot North Dakota and lost his home due to a flood. Left with little and no direction, Dakota decided to join the Army. In 2012, Dakota was serving in Afghanistan and was struck by gun fire in his shoulder and in his head. Fortunately the bullet to the head struck his helmet, ultimately saving his life. Today Dakota is a father, husband, substitute teacher and is currently in flight training school for his commercial pilots license.
