Please join us in celebrating Scheels Hometown Hero, SPC Derrick Ross!!!
On August 23rd 2011, Derrick was conducting a mounted route clearance patrol in Afghanistan when his armored vehicle was struck by an IED. Derrick was 1 of 4 critically injured and spent 19 months working towards salvaging his leg. After continuously re-breaking his leg through physical therapy and multiple infections, Derrick decided to amputate the lower part of his leg.
